When Loyola College and Sir George William University was merged in 1975, the result was Concordia Universtity. It is a Montreal-based Canadian public research university. Although the school is in Quebec, the primary instruction language is English. Concordia University offers over 300 undergraduate and 100 graduate programs and courses.
Concordia Universtity is coeducational and non-sectarian. It has over 25,000 alumni living outside of Quebec. It is a member of several associations including the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, the International Association of Universities, and the Canadian University Press.
Students entering Concordia Universtity normally take three to four years to complete their bachelor’s degrees. They have over 285 undergraduate programs, which they divide into four faculties – which is roughly equivalent to what is called colleges in the United States. These are the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, the Faculty of Fine Arts, and the John Molson School of Business.
