There is a wide array of schools within the Anniston, Alabama city limits. These include several kindergarten through twelfth grade (K-12) public schools, which are supervised by the Anniston Board of Education as well as two faith-based Christian schools, a private academic school, and a community college.
There is one high school (Anniston High School), one middle school (Anniston Middle School, and five elementary schools (Cobb, Constantine, Golden Springs, Randolph Park, and Tenth Street) in the Anniston School system.
The two private Christian schools include Faith Christian School and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School.
Faith Christian is a K4-12 non-denominational Christian school that was started in 1958. Originally, it was affiliated with Faith Presbyterian Church. FCS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and the Alabama High School Athletic Commission.
Sacred of Jesus Heart Catholic School (also known as Sacred Heart) is affiliated with Sacred Heart (of Jesus) Church in Golden Springs. It has three divisions, which include Primary School, the Academy, and the Preparatory School. The school aims to create a strong Christian bond between the students, teachers, and their families.
Donoho School is the only private academic school in Anniston. It is a coeducational college-preparatory day school. It has over 400 students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. It focuses on providing a strong academic environment and opportunities for participation in sports and athletics as well as the performing arts and other extracurricular activities.
Gadsden State Community College is part of the Alabama Community College system. It currently has over 8,000 students who are generally from cities and communities around Northeast Alabama. Their approximately 800 member faculty and staff provide educational opportunities on six different campus locations. They maintain a wide array of programs, which include academic and technical programs, aquaculture, eLearning, GED classes, and a vibrant Continuing Education Program.
